We are nearing the time to get together for a hands-on learning experience in Atlanta! This is a hands-on course for those who want to sharpen their skills in various intra- and extra-oral injection techniques that are necessary to complement the treatment of patients with various pain complaints. You will also learn how Botox can be a valuable adjunctive therapy.
Additionally, this course will have a thorough review of head and neck anatomy. We will also carefully demonstrate when and where injections may be used. Each student will also have the opportunity to observe the techniques, then perform the injections under close faculty supervision.
It’s going to be a great two-day course and we can’t wait to see you all there! Here’s some more information to keep in mind when registering.
The many injections we will cover
Throughout the two days we are together, we will be covering a lot of information. Some of the many injections you will learn include:
- Advanced trigger point injections for myofascial problems.
- TMJ injections for unlocking, prolotherapy and diagnostic purposes.
- Greater occipital injections for occipital neuralgia.
- Nerve blocks for the treatment of myofascial pain, facial neuralgias and headaches.
- Temporalis tendon injections.
There’s a lot to learn and we hope you are ready and excited for it all!
The inclusion of Botox
During the second part of the course, we will cover the inclusion of Botulinum Toxin (Botox) as an additional therapy to treat chronic pain patients. We understand that Botox should not be used as an initial stand-alone treatment, but it is a great adjunct therapy to the orthotic therapy that many of us use daily with our patients.
Techniques for Botox will include the correct muscle joints, depths of injections, proper dilutions and how to avoid, treat and manage possible side effects. By including Botox, dentists will be able to further treat muscle problems, migraine headaches and bruxism problems that current modalities may miss. Safety and risk factors, along with proper evaluation of the patients will also be thoroughly discussed to achieve the best therapeutic and cosmetic effects for your patients.
But remember, every state is different and you are responsible for making sure that you abide by your state laws.
So, what are you waiting for? Sign up today and join us in Atlanta April 22-23 for our injections course.
